New Job…

I started my new job yesterday. My day went like this…

Hubby got called out at 2:30 am to a robbery. I must have hit the alarm button when the phone rang ‘cuz I didnt wake up until 6:45 am… I was supposed to leave for work at 6:30 am!!! MY FIRST DAY!!! So… what should have been a couple of hours of getting ready for my BIG day at work was rushed through as fast as I could! Shower, blow dry my hair, toss a couple of curls in, run out the door, put on my make up while I drove 80 miles an hour down the tollway. Called hubby SCREAMING about how late I was. He met me 1/2 way there and escorted me the rest of the way so that I wouldnt get lost (how sweet is that?!). I pull into the parking lot at 8 am (I was due at 7:45 am) and ran in the door. Nobody was there…

I called Cathy (our old HR director, new one too) and told her that nobody was there. She told me to come to her office for paperwork and she would find out where everybody was. This campus is HUGE… I still cant believe I found her! Anyways, I talk to her for a bit and she checks around… she had told me to be there at 7:45 am… she should have told me 9 am!!!!!!!! Yesterday and today were still summer hours!

So, I was early but felt and looked like… poop.

So, then I go sit in the Grand Hall and wait for 1/2 hour until my new boss gets there. We go into her office and talk for a few minutes. I go staple a few papers together for her, put a power point presentation together (kinda – but not really and it only took 10 minutes). That was it…. for the rest of the day I sat in a meeting room (I have no office! I have no phone! I have no desk! I sit at a long table in a meeting room and do whatever it is I dont seem to have to do) ALL DAY! Before I left she told me that I might want to bring a book with me today… O..M..G!

Today I stuffed envelopes and installed a printer on boss’ computer. THAT WAS IT!!

I get paid MORE than what I did at the hotel.. and I dont know WHY! I am not earning it! Maybe this job change wasn’t such a great idea

Updatish kinda thing…

Not much going on lately. I have been filling in for the Student Secretary while she was out of town last week… now THAT is a busy job!

I am getting the hang of who is what and where around the school. It is such a relaxed atmosphere that it is easy to confuse the slow pace to slacking off, but it really isnt.

Monday, when I get back to MY position maybe it will pick up more…

Oh, and I found out last week that EVERYTHING you do while on campus is recorded. EVERYTHING from phone calls to internet sites and emails that you send… EVERYTHING is recorded in one way or another.

Ummmm?

I made all kinds of changes to my blog yesterday – floating butterflies, links to my blacklist, removed the tagboard (cuz it was causing popups!!)… when I logged on today everything was back to what it was before I made changes! I went into the template and removed the tagboard (again!) and when I reloaded the blog my entries from yesterday were showing (they didnt before I re-removed the tagboard) but the other changes are still gone.

What the heck is THAT about?!
